Something new is always happening - so don't forget to have a look!

Healthy Harry!

All the children have been learning about 'Being Healthy and 'Staying Safe' in line with the 'Every Child Matters' Government Framework.

They have been looking at healthy lifestyles, cleanliness and have been encouraged to independently make decisions for themselves.

Consequently, we have now introduced ‘Healthy Harry' to our ‘Under Threes.' He is a lovely little soft bear who carries a rucksack full of items required to keep clean – e.g. a toothbrush, shampoo, hairbrush etc. He needs constant attention regarding cleanliness, hygiene, safety and care!

After learning all about how to keep clean – the children have been encouraged to take ‘Healthy Harry' home – sharing their new found knowledge with their parents.

A huge ‘thank you' to all the parents who have written such detailed feedback about how their child has cared for ‘Healthy Harry!'

A quick reminder!

Don't forget! We also have 'Barnaby Bear' and 'Betsy Bear' - who are eagerly awaiting in the Nursery for your child to take on their holiday! We love to read all the exciting stories these little bears bring back with them! If you would like your child to take 'Healthy Harry,' 'Barnaby Bear' or 'Betsy Bear' home and would like more information - please see a member of staff in the Nursery.

Another Home/Nursery activity which is on-going at the moment is based on the investigation of magnetism! Our three and four year olds are busy sorting magnetic/non-magnetic items at home and then bringing them to the Nursery! A wonderful prize is waiting to be won!
Watch this space for the announcement of the winner!

In my teaching experience I have found that by strengthening the relationship between Home and the Nursery through fun-filled 'bridging' activities such as these - children hugely benefit!
