"BAKEWELL NURSERY SCHOOL - WE ARE OUTSTANDING!"

Bakewell Nursery School is celebrating after receiving 'outstanding!' for education throughout the Nursery in their recent Ofsted inspection.

Head of the Nursery, Mrs Jean Teale, said, "The awarding of 'outstanding' - the highest possible grade - is an extremely rare occurrence and very difficult to achieve! This truly is a mark of distinction and we are all very proud of our 'outstanding' Nursery School!"

Ofsted inspectors found the education and provision to be exceptional and way above the norm. The Nursery education is of such exceptional high quality that the 3 and 4 year olds are making rapid progress towards the early learning goals in the Early Years Foundation Stage.

Mrs Teale, a fully qualified teacher with 27 years experience in LEA schools, was praised for her 'outstanding leadership and management' and her 'exceptionally clear and concise aims'. She added, “It has been one of my priorities to ensure that we have a highly qualified staff team. We're now in the enviable position of not only having 2 qualified teachers but also 2 graduates with another one 'waiting in the wings' to join our management team! Ofsted praised our staff for using 'exceptional' techniques along with 'high expectations' to ensure all our children achieve their full potential”.

Ofsted commented, 'The children are progressing at an exceptional rate towards their early learning goals and are well prepared for school at the end of their time within the nursery school'.

The Nursery was also praised for it's 'outstanding partnership with parents'. Parents 'are provided with excellent information' regarding the progress and development of their children and what is happening in the Nursery School.

Mrs Teale concluded, “It is very rewarding and reassuring to know that all our hard work is not only being praised and acknowledged by parents but is now being recognised by Ofsted! I am very fortunate to have such a hard working, dedicated staff team who were praised by Ofsted for being 'highly committed, caring, professional and enthusiastic'! And above all, I would like to thank all our wonderful children at Bakewell Nursery School! Their sense of fun and zest for life, learning and discovery certainly ensured we received - 'outstanding!' Thank you!"
